School Council and Eco Reps

Eco Reps

Our Eco Reps are voted in by their classmates, they work incredibly hard to think about ways we can make The Oaks as eco-friendly as possible.

Take a look at some of what we have been up to this year:

The Eco Team were busy today helping to set up for the Pre-loved Christmas jumper sale.  The children helped design a poster to advertise the event and then set up the tables and even had a go at selling some of the items.  This was the Eco Team's first event this year and they represented the school beautifully!

The Eco Team met this morning to discuss how we could make sure we were all making an effort around the school to be more aware of the environment.  They came up with these wonderful posters which are now in each classroom and around the school to help remind us to save water and electricity and to keep our school litter free.  Here are a few of the posters they came up with.

School Council

Our School Council members have a very important job to do. Each year they are elected by classmates to represent them during regular meetings with Mrs Evans. During these meetings we discuss what is great about our school and how we can make it even better. We often have to take ideas back to our classes and discuss them. Then we feedback to the council and decide upon an agreed action. We also like to support places such as local care homes and the food bank.

Take a look at some of what we have been up to this year:

The School Council met last week to discuss what it means to be a school councillor. We shared wonderful conversations and decided on our 'School Council Promises'. We promised to be kind, helpful and make the school a better place. We then made posters to share with everyone around the school!

The School Council have been voting and agreeing on some exciting plans for the year ahead. We will be focusing on the playground environment, new books for the library, and fundraising activities for two chosen charities.
