Term 2

History of Schools

We are very excited about our new topic… ‘History of Schools' We will be taking a step back in time and looking at how schools have changed over time. We will even have some special guests talking about what The Oaks was like when it first opened.

Take a look at the learning planned...

Or if you prefer, you can download it here.

What a busy term we had! Here are some photos of what we got up to. We were learning how to throw, catch and aim for a target using a ball, we did this with our hands and feet.

We have a wonderful day celebrating our History topic; How was School Different in the Past? We dressed as Victorian children and spent our day like we were in a Victorian school. The teachers were very strict and we didn't have the lights on, we also got to try some gruel! We played Victorian games which was a lot of fun.

Later in the term we created a heathy wrap, we had to design it and then cut up all the ingredients wanted to use. We learnt how to use a knife safely and which grip to use when holding the food we were cutting. We also used a grater and a peeler.
